Hey! What do you do if you have fine, long hair that curl at the ends only?

I need something that give curl definition, frizz control, and volume. Is there such a miracle product that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I bought some pantene curl mousse but it weighs my hair down. I used hairspray, but hate the crunch and gross feel. Any suggestions? my hair is dark brown with itty-bitty highlights on the ends where it curls. (they are growing out...) It is a little longer than shoulder length, and the bottom 2 inches are layered.

have your stylist cut a few more long layers. Use a quarter sized dollop of gel--rub your hands together and then work it thru starting at the crown. Then let it air dry til it's almost there, then flip upside down and finish blow drying from below. it shouldn't feel scrunchy at all.

if you have straighteners ... start at roots and straighten up and then curl inwards..and then put a bit of hair spray on it.

this will make it look thinker and more "volumenessed " (is that a word? :S ) .. and should straighten the end out a little

I have similar type hair, but I have found that when I have long layers cut into my hair it increases the curl. I use Suave Curl enhancer shampoo which seems to really work well without killing my pocketbook. I also use a light spray in conditioner to control frizz after washing. That's it.

I've found that heavy conditioners that you use after shampooing just takes the curl right out.

I also think that coloring your hair helps enhance your curls. It dries your hair out a bit which prevents it from getting overly oily, which as you probably know, oily hair will just pull those little curls out.

treat the top of your hair like 'fine, fly away hair' use volumising shampoo and mouse, dry it upside down etc.

treat the botton like curly hair, use alot of condirioner, let the ends dry naturally, use serum etc.

It would help to get a few more layers towards the top, the crown area. Also, only use a little conditioner and stear clear of the mousse. A product I swear by for my own fine, curly hair is the Curl Life spray gel made by Matrix, spray liberally when your hair is pretty damp. It gives great definition, just scrunch it here and there as it's drying. Doesn't cost an arm and a leg, maybe $14. Hope this helps!
