How can you keep long hair growing?

My hair is halfway down my back and it seems as though it has stopped growing. I've tried cutting it a few times and it just stops again at the same spot. I'm growing my hair for locks of love and want to give them as many inches as possible. Are there any tricks to getting my hair to grow any longer?

but i know that the whole 'if you cut your hair it grows faster' is NOT true. sometimes people think it grows faster after they have had a haircut but only because they are noticing the change more.
