The only way I could get long hair on my avator was to have the stupid hat! can I have long hair without the hat? Ive seen other people have it, but when I got to the options there it doesnt allow me very many options.

Go to the appearance tab. Under your avator, go to what you are wearing, then click the hat off. That is what I would do. Try that and see if that works.

go to hair. theres the option of long hair with/without bangs and no hat. =)
