Split Ends? Only people with long hair or had long hair can reply?

It's like this me and my cousin have a bet. Who can grow their hair the longest. I keep get set back because I look like I have split end every month. How am I going to get my hair to my waist by next year if I keep cut my hair! I'm about to give up! Somebody help! It only look like I have split ends when I air dry my hair? Is that why? And my hair dresser like to cut away!

IF YOU FIND OUT HOW TO GROW IT WITHOUT GETTING SPLIT ENDS

YOU GOTTA TELL

Get a trim every 6 weeks that'll get rid of the split ends but preserve your length

This is easy to cure. Every month, get ONLY the ends trimmed off. Make sure you keep your care healthy as well. Wash it AND condition everyday, as well as (I would advise) some leave in creams.

Split ends are the results of overprocessing, dryness, poor diet, stress, etc. You need to make sure that you are placing oil on your scalp at least twice a week. Wash it weekly and it wouldn't hurt to eat right and take a multivitamin. Other than that, DNA has everything to do with the length of your hair and texture. With the image of your avatar, it seems that getting hair to your waist could only be accomplished with extensions. Good Luck!

if you blowdry your hair you need to put something in it first...I can't remember what it is but your hairdresser should. then you probably won't have as many split ends.

plus, I've heard cutting your hair makes it grow faster (if you only cut it a little I suppose) because it gets rid of the "dead" hair at the end so new hair can grow.

Do get it trimmed every six weeks but I wouldn't wash it everyday... every other day if you can get away with it. Also, try to stay away from heat. Let it air dry and don't use a curling iron or a flat iron everyday, this will prevent it from getting so many split ends.

get a trim frequently to get rid of split ends.

it's impossible to get no split ends at all.

i use conditioner daily, hair mask twice a week, and after washing i'll always apply leave in treatment serum, no blowdrying, no flat ironing, no perm, no frequent colouring, and i still get some split ends, though much lesser than my friend who never really took much care of her hair.

tell your hairdresser that you're intending to let your hair grow long and so not to trim more than 1" each time. cutting your hair frequently will somehow induce growth spurt too, so that your hair will grow faster. but if somehow your hair is now in its dormant period then that's another story.

try olive oil. heat some up in the microwave so it's hot but cool enough to handle. wet ur hair with warm water then massage the olive oil into ur hair, especially ur ends. leave it on for at least 30mins but overnight is really good, just sleep with a shower cap on.

You need to trim it every 6-8 weeks, but just a trim. Do a deep conditioner 1-2 times a week. And make sure you are using Professional products, like Matrix Biolage Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioning Balm. You can also use a smoothing cream for before or after hair is dry. Something like AfterParty from TIGI BedHead, or Glass by Redken, or Super Skinny by Paul Mitchell.
