What is the best way to make a faux hawk with long hair?

I have long hair and I want to try to make a faux hawk? How do I do this so it won't fall out during the day and night?

Do I use babbi pins or different clips?? =) Not too sure how to do this... any advise or information would be great!! Thanks!!!

you could go to a hair salon!

You need really short layers at the crown of your head and super strong holding spray. Go to a salon and ask them what their strongest hlding spray is and buy it. Also, you need ALOT of your hair near the crown [top] really short, if not it will just look silly with only a few strands standing up. If your layers aren't short, you must cut them to about 2-3 inches, if not it won't hold as well and you'll also have a huge hawk.

Also, after you put in the holding spray, NO straightening. It will caramilize in your hair and ruin it.

I really don't see how one would be able to incorporate clips since what you want is standing up and clips hold things down, so, no they're not needed.
