Lawyers answer needed. Can employers force males to NOT wear earrings and NOT have long hair but all

I work for a Governmental agency in Texas and I feel the employee handbook is practicing sexual discrimination by allowing females to wear earrings but NOT males. Also long hair is permitted by females ONLY. Also, certain dress attire allowed by women but NOT men....

Lawyers answer needed. Can employers force males to NOT wear earrings and NOT have long hair but allow women??

hey.. im not a lawyer yet im in my third year of law school... what is going on in your workplace is actually illegal unless there has been a contract signed by you with those agreements stated on it, i suggest you take it up with your employer and if he/she will not change the set rules then you can threaten them with a law suit chances of winning your case also depend on the lawyer you get being that it's a goverment agency.. hope it helps!

You have a government job. Whining about the dress code is something I don't have much sympathy for. Life, and dress codes, isn't fair. My advice is to quit your bitching and enjoy the fact that you'd have to walk naked down the hall covered in peanut butter to get fired.
